Our new AP Cybersecurity course is a broad introduction to the field that offers students the opportunity to earn college credit and an employer-endorsed credential. Students will study the ways that individuals and organizations manage risk and how risk can be mitigated through a defense-in-depth strategy. Adaptations to our freshman biology curriculum and classroom methods will include differentiated stations where students will work through learning activities and rigorous extensions. Students will have the ability to earn honors credit at the end of each semester if they complete additional requirements.

Our current pathway for French III has been modified with MCC so that two additional semesters are added for dual credit during Honors French III and Honors French IV. MCC FRE 155 French for Conversation I and FRE 255 French Conversation II will each be worth 3 credits starting in 2026-2027.

On Friday, students from Illinois State University's (ISU) teaching program visited MCHS. They toured the building, heard from our teachers and a student teacher who are ISU and University Illinois alumni, observed classrooms and more!

Congratulations to our newest AVID Warriors! They completed the twelve-hour AVID strategies training. AVID is a 45-year-old national program that includes an elective class, where the goal is to help students achieve greater success in both the classroom and in their future. This is MCHS' third year as an AVID school.


Freshmen had a fun Friday starting the day with a volleyball spirit rally and a Fall Fest during lunches. We think they had a little too much fun pieing staff in the face!š

We are excited to announce that our Basic Nursing Assistant course will be dual credit through MCC for the 2026-2027 school year. Marketing and business instructor Mrs. Kirk participated in the first AL (Adjusted Learning) Together. Staff is invited to come teach a skill to our adjusted learning classrooms. Ms. Kirk taught the students about logos and had them randomly pick socks with different brand designs. They then colored a turkey with the colors from the brand! #BetterTogether156
