On Monday night Chris Moore had the honor to be invited to the city council meeting where they recognized him being crowned wrestling state champ for Class 3A at 170 pounds and a 43-0 record. It is now proclaimed that the week of March 6, 2023 is Chris Moore State Champion week! #WarriorReady156

McHenry Proclamation Whereas, Chris Moore represented McHenry High School at the IHSA Individual Wrestling State Tournament and where as Chris Moore won the Class 3A-10 pound state title, and Whearas, Chris Moore finished the season with a 43-0 recor: and wheras, Chris Moore will advance his academic and athletic career at the University of Illinois, Now therefore I Wayne Jett, Mayor of Mchenry, do herby proclaim the week of March 6, 2023 as Chris Moore State Champion Week in the City of McHenry. I urge all citizens to recognize and extend their admiration to Chris Moore for his accomplishments and representing his City and school. This past Sunday the Key Club participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge in Crystal Lake. Eighteen people plunged and as a team they raised over $3,000 for the Special Olympics. #WarriorReady156 #PolarPlunge

MCHS participated in the the Illinois Design Educators Association regional competition on Friday. We had 26 students competing at MCC in various categories. Bunting, Berwanger, Gardon, Plancon, and Jensen have qualified for state in April. On Friday Warrior Buddies recruited people to add to their inclusion garden during lunches. Students wrote on flower-shaped stickers why inclusion is important, how they include people and when they feel included. The stickers grew into a wonderful garden! #PledgetoInclude

Harriet Tubman- escaped slave, nurse, Union spy, women's suffrage supporter, "Conductor" in Underground Railroad. Marcus Garvey- Civil rights activist, black nationalist, Founded Negro World newspaper, a shipping company, and Universal Negro Improvement Association. Where? USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Netherlands  and Germany all have official Black History Month celebrations, When? The US and Canada both celebrate in February. The UK, Netherlands, and Ireland celebrate in October.
