Several things are happening in October -- National Manufacturing Month -- for MCHS students interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing.
McHenry Community High School is hosting its annual Manufacturing, Trades and Industry event with at least 40 businesses and organizations. Students and families are able to meet with representatives of local business and training programs to learn more about careers in manufacturing, trades and industry.
New this year is a health care careers category for students interested in biomedical science careers. Representatives from Northwestern Medicine, McHenry County College and A-Tek Ambulance will be on hand to talk to students about training for medical careers.
Also this month, the Manufacturing Pathways Consortium is celebrating National Manufacturing Month by offering tours at several McHenry County manufacturing plants. Students who are interested can sign up here through Oct. 7.
