McHenry Community High School parents and guardians are invited to learn more about their students’ school experience through two separate and upcoming Walk in Their Shoes events.
Those with students at Freshman Campus are invited to come to school at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 to visit their students’ classrooms and meet teachers. The same event is planned for 7 p.m. Aug. 31 at Upper Campus, with the addition of a senior postsecondary presentation starting at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium.
For both Walk in Their Shoes events, parents and guardians are encouraged to bring along a copy of their students’ schedules. Families can also find student schedules by logging in to Skyward Family Access.
Each classroom will have a short presentation as family members can move on through the daily schedule. The first period starts at 7 p.m. MCHS school counselors and other staff also will be available to answer any questions.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend their students’ AIM classroom, but there is no need to attend lunch or study hall periods.
For the senior postsecondary presentation on Aug. 31, school counselors will go over things that seniors need to do to prepare for graduation and beyond. Topics include graduation requirements, financial aid for postsecondary training and education, internship programs, college search and more.
