The MCHS AVID students (Advancement Via Individual Determination) took the opportunity during lunchtime on Thursday, October 5 to kick off their community service projects by cleaning up the paint from the business windows on Green Street. Students learned about the importance of volunteering their time and talents and how to open their eyes to find the opportunity to help others all around them.
The activity is the kick-off to their self-starting service campaigns, which they will work on all year long. AVID Elective teachers Andrew Stegenga and Maxwell Zerndt will be leading the students through the activity. If any community members have a need our students can help fulfill, contact Heidie Dunn at the Freshman Campus. DunnHeidie@dist156.org
