“On-Track” Status: When a student earns less than 6 credits in a year, they become credit deficient and fall “off-track”. Off track students and parents should meet with their counselor to discuss a plan for recovery that will likely include summer school and retaking failed courses. The below chart highlights the color coding of the “on-track status” metric to represent the urgency to recover credits to graduate on time. "ON-TRACK" = 6 credits earned per year

** Freshmen will have less data in their reports. On the winter report, freshmen should have 3 credits to be "on track".

Attendance %: Having good school attendance is one of the leading factors in learning and school success. The State of Illinois sets 95% attendance as the expectation and indicator of college and career readiness. Students need to develop good attendance patterns to succeed in the real world. MCHS views 90% attendance as a minimum standard for success and 95%+ as exemplary. Students with school attendance below 90% should make a commitment to improve in this important area.

90% attendance in a 90 day semester = 9 days absent and 18 days absent in a school year. 18 days absent = 3.5 weeks missed

80% attendance in 90 day semester = 18 days absent and 36 days absent in a school year. 36 days absent = 7 weeks missed

School Attendance Percentage Green-90%, Yellow- 80-89%, Red-Below 80%

Community Service Hours Logged: MCHS encourages all students to engage in serving their community. Students who wish to earn the Distinguished Warrior Honor upon graduation need to accumulate and log a minimum of 25 service hours in their Warrior Dashboard. This area of the student success report shows how many hours the student has logged in the Warrior Dashboard so far.

Career Pathways Identified: MCHS requires all students to develop four year plans that correspond to one or more of the career clusters taught as part of our student services career programming. These fields are associated with the career pathways of interest that the student has entered into their Warrior Resume in their dashboard. Students should select their elective courses annually based on these career interests and recommendations from the career clusters. For more information please view the MCHS Career Clusters and Pathways Guide.
