McHenry Key Club is helping to collect items for My Sister's Dress, a one-day sale of new or gently used formal wear on Feb. 25 at McHenry County College.
The goal is to make prom more affordable for all while supporting local nonprofits. Proceeds from the Feb. 25 sale will go to Home of the Sparrow and MCC’s Education to Empowerment foundation.
Key Club members have set out boxes to collect donations near the security entrance on the north side of Upper Campus. They’re looking for gently used formal dresses, shoes and accessories for the sale.
Key Club Advisor Emma Theel said the goal is to collect 70 dresses by Friday, Feb. 17. Donations are also being collected at other locations in the McHenry County area. See flyer for details.
The My Sister’s Dress event is open to anyone and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 25 in the gym at McHenry County College. All dresses will be sold for $25, and accessories and shoes $5.
