This past weekend was a busy one for MCHS Bands!
On Saturday, Gavin Wuchter and Aiden Fogelson performed with the Illinois Music Education Association District 7 Senior Festival Band at Glenbrook South High School.
They had to pass a highly competitive audition in October against some of the best students in McHenry, Lake, and Cook Counties. They had the opportunity to work with Dr. Scott Corley from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Later that night, band students performed at the 249th Marine Corps Birthday Ball hosted by Marine Corps League McHenry County Detachment #1009 in Crystal Lake. Students were able to meet Marine Corps veterans and provide music for their dinner service.
Lastly, on Sunday the Jazz Ensemble performed at the Durty Nellie's restaurant in Palatine to open for professional big band the Jazz Consortium Big Band. Jazz Ensemble members played a half-hour set before watching the professional band perform.
