The McHenry Community High School Environmental Club is holding a Textile Recycling Drive in cooperation with the McHenry County Defenders to keep old clothes, blankets, shoes and more out of landfills.
The club will have collection boxes out in Upper Campus starting Wednesday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 20. The community is invited to drop off clean clothes, blankets, towels, shoes and similar items. The club will deliver the collected items to the Sept. 21 Recycling Event at the McHenry County Administration Building in Woodstock.
At McHenry High School, bins will be near the north and south entrances and also in Room 372.
The McHenry County Recycling Event, which goes from 9 a.m. until noon on Sept. 21, is also collecting other items for recycling, such as batteries and light bulbs, but there is a charge. For more, visit the county’s
solid waste page on the website.
