#JacksonStrong fundraising exhibition basketball games

Boys basketball teams and alumni from Johnsburg and McHenry are coming together to play for a cause.

A series of basketball exhibition games are scheduled for Saturday, June 24 to raise money for Jackson Werderitch, who was in a bicycle accident at the end of May. It starts at 4 p.m. with the JV game, followed by varsity at 5 p.m. and then an alumni game at 6 p.m.

#JacksonStrong takes place at Johnsburg High School, 2002 W. Ringwood Road. Admission is $5 and there will also be a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will go to the Werderitch family.

McHenry Boys Basketball Coach Chris Madson said Jackson is a football and basketball fan and plays on the Johnsburg feeder teams, so he reached out to Johnsburg to offer to help.

Jackson was hit by a car near Johnsburg High School on May 23. To learn more about how to help, visit the GoFundMe page set up to help the family.
